In 1955 the Extrusion Fabrik Aral GmbH was founded by Mr. Ruckstuhl. The company's name was later sold to the oil company Aral, which led to the company being renamed Arolit GmbH.

In 1956 Roland Sandi bought the company Arolit GmbH and (mistakenly?) renamed it Arolit-Plastik GmbH.

In 1970 the company reoriented itself and developed into an international ski base? coating and extrusion production company. In 1977, the Kalender (name?) facility was sold and the company withdrew from the production of ski coatings and extrusion products.

In 1978 Arolit-Plastik GmbH reoriented itself into one of the first Swiss manufacturers of peripheral machines and systems for the plastics processing industry. The products were sold worldwide under the registered product label VariColor.

In 1997 Arolit-Plastik GmbH developed the fully automatic emptying stations. Due to the unique, space-saving single-column design, the machine became internationally recognised. The patent specification was granted in 1999.

In 2000 Arolit Plastik GmbH built larger production facilities in Emmenbrücke.

In 2004 great importance was attached to the further development of the automatic BigBag and Octabin emptying stations, which led to further patent specifications.

In 2014 Arolit-Plastik GmbH became VariColorTech Systems GmbH in order to merge the product label VariColor with the company name VariColorTech GmbH.

In the same year, the production facility in Malters was technically expanded and the VariColor product range was further developed.

In 2016, the parts removal system was developed in a vacuum system, followed by an expansion of the fixed parts conveyor systems in 2017.

In 2023, the emptying station for automatic BigBags and Oktabin, especially with regard to the extraction of difficult-to-flow materials was further aligned, which led to further patenting.
